Within Graham Hancock's exhausting publication ( 'Fingerprints of the Gods', 1995 .) Mr. Hancock has expressed the basic thesis of a highly advanced prehistoric civilization - precedent to that of our own modern civilization that had ascertained technological advancement surpassing the marvels of the 21st century. He uses examples of ancient Maps that have accurately charted the world representing Antarctica a million years ago. These Maps represent a highly advanced mathematical trigonometric coordinate transformation method of Map constructing - that was mastered and used by this so called unidentified people. WHOM ARE THESE UNIDENTIFIED PEOPLE? Hancock uses examples of the Nasca Lines in Peru to prove those unidentified advanced prehistoric peoples in question, had mastered flight long before our modern aviation endeavors. He makes mention that the lines themselves are very ancient works of art that are separate characters each made by means of one continuous line that can only be seen at an altitude of a few 100 feet at the least. One such character that the ancient artist depicts is a spider 150 feet long. This is not just any spider though. This 150 foot long spider is one of the rarest spiders in the world only found in the remote inaccessible regions of the Amazon rainforest known as the 'Ricinulei'. Hancock is puzzled as to the engineering and the purpose of this massive reconstruction: p.39 pp3 " Why should they have wanted to do such a thing an how were they able to duplicate minute details of Ricinulei's anatomy normally visible under a microscope, notably the reproductive organ positioned on the end of it's extended right leg ?" A senior astronomer with Chicago's Adler Planetarium by the name of Dr Phyllis Pilluga claims just as the Great Pyramid of Khamitic Egypt - the Nasca Spider also is a terrestrial representation of the star constellation of Orion.

Hancock turns toward the Inca and puzzles over their predecessors that he claims to also be an unidentified ancient race whom seemed to have mastered the manipulation of anti gravity in order for them to quarry, shape, and move 361 ton blocks raised and placed for construction. He notes 361 tons is an equivalent weight of 600 automobiles. The Spanish 16th century Garciaso del la Vega recorded that it was the work of demons because he couldn't understand how a Man could accomplish such a feet of engineering.
